Founder Story

Accokeek Fence Inc. was founded by Jorge (Ed) Gutierrez. After he finished his duty to his country, he decided it was time to go into business for himself and give back to his community. Ed has a mentor who once told him “If you work hard the rest will come.” This piece of advice encouraged Ed to work as hard as he can. One by one as he put up fences for his neighbors and friends, building his skills as he went along; and when he was ready Ed put his skills to work and thought, it was time to share his skills with others. In 1975, Jorge decided to open the shop and go into the business still working as hard as he can.

Accokeek Fence became known as a company that is professional, dependable, and customer orientated. Still to this day that is the image we strive to achieve with every customer no matter how big or small the project. He wanted to make sure people felt happy and satisfied by their home improvement projects, a work ethic that is still a part of Accokeek Fence.
